Children's Oceans of Possibilities
Welcome to the East Lansing Public Library
Children’s Summer Reading Program!
Ages 5 to 12 can read for 15 minutes a day through the summer to be entered into a grand prize drawing! Any kind of reading counts: print books, audio books, digital books, comics and graphic novels, and magazines. If you are reading to someone else or someone else is reading to you, that counts toward your minutes!
You can track your minutes on paper or here through our ReadSquared site or free app. Completing 18 hours of reading will put you into a prize drawing for one of our grand prizes: bubble wands, books, a mini camera, Schuler's Books gift cards, a Nintendo Switch Lite, even an Amazon Fire! If you complete all the bonus challenges (activities include listening to an audio book, playing a game, attending a library summer program, and more), you can get a second grand prize entry. You also can decorate a fish for our Wave Wall (and another a fish for every 5 hours more that you read!)
Visit the Summer Reading page on our website for more information or contact Gillian, the Youth Services Librarian at gstreet@cityofeastlansing.com.
